This space was created with you in mind - the woman navigating the wild, beautiful, raw and sometimes overwhelming journey to motherhood and beyond
I’m Kasey, pre & postnatal fitness coach, functional nutritionist, occupational therapist, doula, wife and mom - and my mission is to champion confident motherhood across the whole perinatal journey💪🏼
I help women feel strong, informed, supported and prepared - whether you are planning to get pregnant, trying to understand how to eat and exercise during pregnancy, preparing for labor and delivery, healing after birth or returning to the workouts you love with confidence...and less incontinence 😉
Here, you’ll find evidence-based support blended with professional experience, real-life encouragement and a coaching approach rooted in compassion, education, individuality and whole-body wellness
I absolutely love this work & dedicated to continuous learning that elevates maternal (and infant) health...because pregnancy sets the foundation for baby’s long-term development & wellness, too
Welcome in, we’re going to have so much fun together!
8 things the evidence, professional experience and personal experience has led me to believe about pregnancy & birth:
birth is a physiological process that is designed with innate, adaptive and responsive intelligence - and medical support has a time and place
women were designed to do this. We benefit from remaining active, supported and deeply attuned to our bodies throughout pregnancy and labor as much as we can be
because no one else is going to do it for us, we can/should take responsibility in supporting our body's terrain through healthy habits (even before we get pregnant, however it's never too late) to build resilience for birth and recovery, support baby's growth and development and positively influence our health, wellness and quality of life as we age - and we should constantly extend ourselves grace when we fall short with our habits and seek out help when we need it
applying the principles of birth biomechanics - how movement and positioning affect pelvic alignment and baby's descent down and out the birth canal - can facilitate optimal baby positioning for your specific pelvis, improve labor efficiency and contribute to a more comfortable birth experience
nutrition, movement and nervous system regulation have a profound impact on maternal health, labor/delivery outcomes, postpartum healing, epigenetic expression and early metabolic programming in babies. How empowering there is much within our control - and there are things that we do not have control over
comprehensive birth preparation extends beyond the physical. It includes grounding yourself spiritually, emotional regulation, being intentional with your environment, informed decision making and supportive relationships - and there is no such thing as perfect preparation
a birth team and setting that support your beliefs, values, and priorities enhance safety and confidence, which can shape your birth outcomes and experience - yet a perfect birth team does not exist, as we are all human
birth, just like health, is not one-size-fits-all. It is a dynamic, individualized process involving many unique variables for each woman and family
In health & motherhood,
Kasey
